See the progressA short video of your child speaking, every month.
Every group ends with a real call to someone your child loves. A grandparent, an uncle, an auntie, a cousin: you choose who. Your teacher is on the call to help, and we get your relative ready beforehand.
We share this with whoever joins, so nobody feels put on the spot.
Pick who your child will talk to, then send them a friendly WhatsApp message. It takes 30 seconds, and you can invite more than one person.
We don't store this. WhatsApp opens with the message ready, and you choose to send it. We confirm the date with you before week 10.
Instead of levels and scores, you see real skills. Your teacher ticks each one off and messages you. Then make a card to share it with the family.
Level 1, ten weeks. Tap a skill to see its card. Teachers confirm each one after class and send you a WhatsApp message.
Made for the family WhatsApp group. Share only when your child has reached the milestone.
If Mum and Dad come from different parts of Nigeria, your child can learn more than one.

Why Vernacula exists. Many families across Nigeria and in the diaspora speak mostly English at home, making it difficult for children to speak their parents' native language. This leaves kids unable to connect deeply with relatives back home, even while thriving in school and public life. Vernacula was born to bridge this gap, helping children retain their heritage language so they can confidently converse with grandparents, cousins, and family everywhere. We personally vet every teacher and watch them teach a live class before they ever meet your child.

These are the rules for booking and taking classes with Vernacula. We've written them in plain English. By booking a class, you agree to them.
Vernacula is run by [Registered business name], [registered address], Nigeria. "We" and "us" means Vernacula. "You" means the parent or guardian who books classes.
Each child can take one free trial class. You don't need to give payment details for the trial, and there's no obligation to join afterwards.
If a teacher is ill or a class can't go ahead because of a power or internet problem on our side, we'll offer a replacement class or credit it to your next month.
Our worksheets, songs, videos and lesson plans are for your family's own use. Please don't share them publicly or sell them. Class recordings include other children, so please don't post them anywhere.
Partnerships with community groups and schools are covered by a separate written agreement that sets out the price, schedule and responsibilities.
We take great care to run good, safe classes, but we can't promise how quickly any child will learn. Our total liability to you is limited to what you've paid us in the last [3 months]. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have by law that can't be limited.
We may update these terms. We'll change the date at the top and tell enrolled families about important changes before they take effect.
These terms are governed by the laws of [the Federal Republic of Nigeria]. If you live in another country, you keep any consumer rights your local law gives you.
Questions about these terms: message us on WhatsApp or email hello@getvernacula.com.
